Telehealth ADHD Psychiatric Care & Medication Management

Struggling to focus? Constantly overwhelmed? Feeling capable but inconsistent?

Adult ADHD can affect productivity, emotional regulation, organization, and daily functioning — even in high-achieving adults.

At Rooted Mental Health Services, I provide comprehensive adult ADHD evaluation and treatment via secure telehealth across Illinois. Care is structured, evidence-based, and individualized.

What Adult ADHD Can Look Like

ADHD in adults often presents differently than in childhood. Symptoms may include:

  • Difficulty sustaining attention

  • Chronic procrastination

  • Time blindness

  • Forgetfulness

  • Mental clutter or racing thoughts

  • Emotional reactivity

  • Trouble prioritizing tasks

  • Feeling overwhelmed by routine responsibilities

Many adults develop coping strategies that mask symptoms for years before stress, career demands, or life transitions make symptoms more difficult to manage.

Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation

ADHD Is a Clinical Diagnosis

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is diagnosed using DSM-5-TR criteria through a structured psychiatric evaluation.

Your comprehensive assessment includes:

  • A 90-minute clinical interview

  • Review of childhood and developmental history

  • Assessment of current symptoms and functional impairment across settings

  • Evaluation for co-occurring conditions that may mimic or overlap with ADHD

  • Collateral documentation when available (prior records, report cards, rating scales, etc.)

Diagnosis is based on established DSM-5-TR criteria and clinical assessment.

ADHD Treatment & Medication Management in Illinois

If ADHD is diagnosed, treatment may include:

  • Evidence-based first-line medications when clinically appropriate

  • Non-stimulant medication options

  • Structured follow-up appointments

  • Ongoing symptom monitoring

  • Practical executive functioning strategies

Medication decisions are made collaboratively and guided by clinical standards, safety considerations, and functional impairment.

The goal is sustainable improvement — improved focus, reduced overwhelm, stronger emotional regulation, and greater day-to-day stability.
